From Heritage to Innovation

Vernicos Yachts was established in 1975 in Athens, continuing a family tradition that started in the 19th century. The company’s activities include sales of new and second-hand yachts, crewed yacht charters and procurement of yacht related services.

Our Range of Yachts and Partnerships

Vernicos Yachts cooperates with internationally renowned shipyards to offer a broad variety of sailing yachts, motor yachts and catamarans for private or professional use. At present the company is the official dealer for Greece for the yards of Beneteau, CNB, Lagoon and the pioneering project Monte Carlo Yachts that is backed by Beneteau. The experienced professionals of the Vernicos team will offer the necessary guidance before purchase and efficient customer support post sale.

In 1997 Vernicos Yachts became the first yachting company in the world to acquire the quality certificate ISO 9001 for yacht sales and charters.

The President

George Vernicos was born in Athens in 1950. He comes from a seafaring family from the island of Sifnos that first began its shipping activities during the middle of the 19th century in Istanbul and moved to Piraeus during the decade of 1920. He studied Economics at the University of Athens and University of London.

George Vernicos is the Chairman of Vernicos Yachts, which he founded in 1975. He has also created the Verina hotel complex on the island of Sifnos, that includes two boutique hotels, Verina Suites and Verina Astra and the Verina Villa.

George Vernicos is a well know entrepreneur, social activist and traveler. It has a strong business and social activity. He is professionally involved mainly in the development of marine tourism and environmental protection. He is a member of a number of Οrganizations and Chambers. Today, among other, he is Secretary General of Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), Honorary President of Hellenic Professional Yacht Owners Association (EPEST), representative of tourism in the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and Ambassador to the EUROPEAN CLIMATE PACT.
